All smiles at the 2024 Upstream Classic!

OTTAWA—Upstream Ottawa’s Classic Charity Golf Tournament, held in support of mental health and substance-use health services, is returning to the Stonebridge Golf Club this September for another fun day of golf. We are seeking sponsors who want in on this highly successful event, and donations of auction items or prizes, large and small.

The tournament, chaired by Jenni of the New Hot 89.9, will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, and will recognize the charity’s 40th anniversary.

Upstream Ottawa will have full access to the Stonebridge course for the entire day, with golfers arriving late morning (10 a.m.) for registration, then starting play at 11 a.m. The early start and short course, filled with games, entertainment, food and drink, will see golfers finishing play in plenty of time for the tournament reception, dinner and auction.

The fee for golfers will remain at $200, the same price as last year. This fee includes green fees, a boxed lunch, golf carts and dinner at the Stonebridge clubhouse.

The evening dinner and auction will be hosted by Jenni and Brady of the New Hot 89.9 and will include both a live and silent auction. Extensive sponsorship, donation, participation, and volunteer opportunities are available for the tournament.

If you can help out in any way, please send an email to carmour@upstreamottawa.ca with Golf 2025 in the subject line, or call 613-248-3330.

Established in 1985, Upstream Ottawa Mental Health Community Support offers support services and affordable housing to persons with persistent mental illness, substance-use health challenges and related issues.

Upstream Ottawa is funded for its core services, Intensive Case Management and AMANI Mental Health and Substance Use Services for Black Youth (formerly SAPACCY), by the Ontario Ministry of Health and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, respectively.

Money raised in the golf tournament will support the delivery of our Wellness Services, which provide wrap-around support to help clients lead independent lives. This includes client transportation, social and recreational outings, monthly luncheons, support groups, back-to-school/work assistance, and financial support for essentials like bedding, clothing, and groceries. Our Wellness Services receive no government funding and cost Upstream Ottawa approximately $80,000 each year.

In the past three years, the Upstream Classic Charity Golf Tournament has raised over $100,000. This year, we aim to raise a record-breaking $40,000 in recognition of our 40th year serving the residents of Ottawa.

Further details are on Upstream Ottawa’s website, https://www.upstreamottawa.ca/services/golftournament2025.
