Team Upstream race campaign gives boost to wellness services

OTTAWA – This past Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, 16 athletes from Ottawa and beyond joined Team Upstream with the goal of raising $5,000 in support of unfunded wellness services. The campaign’s fundraising portal officially closed on June 17, with the final amount raised totalling $5,606.23.

Upstream Ottawa’s wellness services include client transportation, luncheons, social opportunities, recreational outings, and back-to-school/work support. These services are designed to encourage social connections, provide wrap-around support, and reduce isolation, which help improve independence and wellness among individuals with mental health and substance-use health challenges. The funds raised through this campaign will ensure that the Upstream Ottawa community receives high-quality, client-centred care that is truly holistic.

Upstream Ottawa would like to extend congratulations and gratitude to the members of Team Upstream and the community of donors that contributed to the campaign’s success. Josh Fry at OCR Academy kindly provided Team Upstream athletes with training tips and gracious sponsors. Wheelhouse Cycle, Carlington Booch, Thali and Lululemon Tanger provided prizes. Howling Design created custom Team Upstream hats for the athletes and a post-10k celebration was held at the Lieutenant’s Pump.

With the success of the 2024 Team Upstream campaign, the organization has registered to participate again in 2025. Please consider joining in on the fun next Spring by registering here:
